A Bad Days Bass Fishing Can Be A Great Day For The Local Economy
As anglers we all live for those special days. Those days when the fish are feeding hard, luck is on our side, and the conditions are perfect. I experienced some sensational bass fishing this week. I have also seen eight basking sharks, two sea otters and a sunfish.
The water temperature has rocketed from 13 degrees
to 17 degrees in the space of a week and the fish are going nuts! Just
over a week ago things felt very different. We had a tough time and only
landed two Bass for two day's hard slog. We released the fish one of
which was around 2 lbs and the other around 1lb; Lets consider how much
those two fish were worth...
After the guys
left I had a thought about just how much money charter boats or bass
guides bring into the local economy. I had a quick tot up of what the
guys had spent over the two days and the figures are quite staggering. I
sold two bass for £520 per pound, released the fish and put hard cash
into the local economy.
